Ride Maintenance Mechanic/Millwright

Reports to
Maintenance Manager
Summary
Centreville Amusement Park is hiring a full-time seasonal Ride Mechanic/Millwright to work
during our operational season from May to September. This position will require you to think
quickly on your feet and perform continuous maintenance and repairs to our amusement park
rides. The ideal candidate must have a millwright certification, have experience in preventative
measures, troubleshooting and experience with hydraulics, engines and be able to work in a
team setting or independently with limited supervision.
Job Duties
 Rebuild and/or repair of equipment as specified
 Update and maintain all required service records and logs
 Make recommendations for improvements, modification, upgrades and report findings to
Maintenance Manager on a timely basis
 Assist with major overhauls, modifications and alterations as required
 Ensure the safe operation of each work area and each work project
 Assist with general cleaning, inspection and reassemble equipment as needed
 Responsible for assisting with daily preventative maintenance program
 Install new equipment
 Build parts when required
 Other duties may be assigned
Requirements
 Experience with mechanical trades positions
 Certified Millwright
 Post Secondary education in a mechanical trade
 Strong communications skills
 Ability to work in short time constraints
 Ability to work weekends and holidays during operational season
 Proven ability to problem solve, and troubleshoot
 Ownership of own tools and safety boots
 Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
 Must be able to meet the physical demands of job including but not limited to lifting
40lbs, heights, twisting, standing, walking, bending and crawling
 Must have working at heights certification

Ride Maintenance

Reports to
Maintenance Manager

Summary
The maintenance ride technician is a hands-on position who is willing to learn. The ideal
candidate will have a variety of experiences with carpentry, welding experience and facility
maintenance, positive attitude, who wants to learn and is able to follow specific directions from
our experienced maintenance team. William Beasley provides a working environment that
allows our employees to learn but to excel at the skills they already possess.
Job Duties
 Perform minor maintenance or repairs throughout the amusement park, such as but not
limited to signage, broken doors, handles, piping, windows etc.
 Conduct inspections as assigned
 Assist with major overhauls modifications and alterations on rides or buildings
 Ensure workshop is clean and tidy ensuring equipment is in good order
 Assist with preventative maintenance and inspections of rides
 Assist maintenance department in other duties that will be assigned.

Requirements
 Basic welding skills are an asset
 Carpentry licence is an asset
 Valid Ontario driver’s license (must provide driver’s abstract)
 Experience with forklifts, and other types of industrial equipment
 Diverse background trouble shooting repairs and working with scheduled upgrades and
refurbishments
 Experience in a diverse construction/ maintenance environment
 Strong communication skills both written and oral
 Exposure to working from blueprints and drawings a must
 Ability to work shifts, including weekends and holidays as required
 Proven abilities to solve problems and work with deadlines
 Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
 Required to meet the physical demands of the job including weights of up to 23kg,
heights over 3m, frequent standing, walking, twisting, reaching, bending, crawling and
ability to work with ladders.

Small Engine Mechanic

Reports to
Maintenance Manager

Summary
The small engine mechanic must have hands on experience repairing small engines from golf
carts, boat motors, and lawnmowers. Can work with limited supervision or in a team setting to
troubleshoot and maintain the various engines and motors we have.

Job Duties
 Inspect and test engines to find malfunctions using hand tools.
 Repair and replace defective parts, such as gears, pistons, valves, and carburetors
 Perform routine maintenance
 Routinely check on rides that have engines and motors to ensure that equipment is in
working order
 Maintain accurate records of parts used and services performed
 Adherent to safety protocols, including working with hazardous materials
Requirements
 Must have experience working with small engines such as boat motors, 2 strokes and 4
stroke engines.
 Excellent technical skills
 Experience using various hand tools and has own tools and boots
 Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions, and loud noise
 Must be able to bend, crawl, lift 40lbs or more, stand for long periods, walk, and twist.
 Strong communication skills
 Excellent time management skills
 Ability to work under pressure

Carpenter

Reports to
Maintenance Manager

Summary
As the carpenter you will be tasked with repairing and maintain many of the existing infrastructure within
the amusement park and building new fixtures. The ideal candidate must have excellent carpentry skills
such as rough framing, and interior and exterior finish work. They must be able to work under strict time
constraints, and independently. This is a full-time seasonal position that would start as early as mid-April
until early October with the opportunity to return to the following season after a positive performance
review.

Job Duties
 Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight
steel and other materials.
 Repair any broken wood paneling on buildings, floors, boardwalks, fencing etc.
 Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding, and hardware
 Maintain, repair, and renovate buildings and wooden structures around the amusement park and
other concessions.
 Operate various hand tools, power tools, and equipment used to complete carpentry duties,
including: circular saw, table saw, router, pneumatic nail gun, ramset, drills, and other tools used
for measuring, cutting, fastening, and drilling.
Requirements
 At least 4 years experience as a carpenter
 knowledge of Ontario building Code.
 Experience with framing and finishing carpentry
 Must be a problem solver
 Excellent communication skills.
 Superior level of quality workmanship.
 Must have basic set of carpenter tools
 Ability to work independently with limited supervision
